it City Productions began in 2017 in Sydney, Australia, when a group of fresh graduates in graphic design, photography, and filmmaking came together through a shared passion for creativity, storytelling, and digital media. What started as small collaborative projects between creative peers quickly evolved into a creative journey shaped by learning, experimentation, and a strong desire to build something meaningful together. Built on artistic vision and collaboration, Lit City Productions continues to focus on authentic storytelling through visual media.
in the early days, we worked from a small apartment studio using basic equipment and limited resources. We would especially like to acknowledge and thank our founder, Chanhee Park, whose support and motivation played a vital role at the beginning. She hosted and funded much of the early work and helped create an environment where creativity and collaboration could grow.
Photography became a major part of our foundation. Sydney — with its beautiful skyline, vibrant streets, and iconic harbour — became our creative playground after our college years. We spent countless hours exploring the city, developing our skills, and completing many of our early projects around Sydney Harbour. It was there that we took our first client for a shoot along the harbour — a defining moment that inspired the name “Lit City,” reflecting both the energy of the city and the spark that drove our creativity.
we embraced the city itself as our backdrop — from golden sunsets and twilight hues to the vibrant energy of the night. Sydney’s changing light, movement, and atmosphere shaped our creative vision and became the foundation of what Lit City represents today. Each moment of the day brought a different story to capture, pushing us to experiment, grow, and develop a style that blends artistic expression with authentic storytelling. The city wasn’t just a location; it became part of our identity, influencing how we see light, people, and the emotions behind every frame.
Like many creative teams, we faced significant challenges during the COVID-19 period in 2020. The industry slowed down, projects paused, and many members of our team returned to their home regions, leading to a major shift and a difficult period of transition. Work came to a standstill, and the future of Lit City Productions became uncertain.
In 2024, we regrouped, rebuilt our vision, and started fresh with renewed determination. This new chapter is focused on transforming Lit City Productions into a true production house — one that continues to grow while staying honest about the journey and the work still ahead.
Although Chanhee later moved to Dubai and achieved significant success working in social media alongside some of Dubai’s biggest names, her influence remains an important part of our story and continues to inspire our direction today.
We are still on the journey — learning, improving, and growing step by step, continuing to build toward something greater. Our goal is to evolve into a creative studio capable of producing across multiple mediums — from digital media and animation to music and film.
